What about I never get over him? And I hurt forever? He was my soulmate and I love him so much yet heโ€™s cheated and with someone else ๐Ÿ’”

OP posts:

Fgs forget him.

Seziah · 09/09/2026 17:10

Build up your self esteem. Remember that a true soulmate would not cheat or deceive you. Think about what you want from a relationship (trust, security, honesty, true love etc.) and work towards that, remembering that he never could have provided it

Can you get counselling? Why did you split?

vodkaredbullgirl · 09/09/2026 17:12

OP it doesn't matter how many times you post about the fukwit, you will get the same answer.

AbsintheMakesTheHeartGrowFonder · 09/09/2026 17:14

Posting repeatedly about how you'll never get over him, as you have been doing, is not going to help you get over him.

You're wallowing in it now and you're not helping yourself in the slightest.

Look, I've been there and it's the worst feeling in the world but the only way to get over it is to force yourself to buck up, at least outwardly, rather than swimming in your own misery. Will you still feel shit? Yes. But not as shit as you'll feel if you keep this up.

Catza · 09/09/2026 17:15

No, you are not unreasonable to say that. This is your fifth thread on the topic and you don't engage with any advice. I think this puts you at a high chance of feeling this way for a very very long time.

She explains in her post why they split. He cheated on her and left her for someone else.

I misunderstood. I thought he was with someone else now and she viewed it as cheating. Apologies @TheOpalFox

Keep reminding yourself that heโ€™s a selfish lying bastard, was never the man you thought he was and you are well rid of him. You deserve better. Repeat this until you believe it. Youโ€™ll be ok x

shellyleppard · 09/09/2026 17:20

Op you won't get over him if you keep wallowing in your grief. He wasn't your soulmate , he wouldn't have cheated if he was "the one".
Sorry if its harsh but you have to move on with your life.

Millytante · 09/09/2026 21:47

No, you never will get over him. You are determined not to!
You persist in clinging to your imaginary definitions of โ€˜soulmateโ€™ and of โ€˜loveโ€™, as though it is far more important to picture yourself as some fictional tragic, romantic character than as a living woman who hooked up with an inadequate, uncaring bloke who is surely nobodyโ€™s definition of โ€˜soulmateโ€™, given the all misery he caused you.
If what you two shared was love, then I am Marie of Roumania.

Look, Iโ€™m being deliberately harsh because your repeated posts (still from exactly the same emotional point, with no evidence of any movement forwards) just make any reasonable person want to give you a damn good shake!
You have a teenaged lad to care for (and your own father I think), and you are giving the boy some odd notions about women and what is acceptable behaviour with us.
Showing him you are all but flatlining for want of this damn ex, you are telling your son that nowhere is too low in terms of what a grown woman will accept as a place in her manโ€™s priorities.
Get up, stand up, and donโ€™t be that manโ€™s fool any longer.

5682Jhd · 09/09/2026 21:53

Youโ€™ll drive yourself insane if you allow yourself to wallow in this feeling for to long.
Most adults at some point will have experienced this feeling, it feels like shit but we survive and move on. He wasnโ€™t the man for you and the soulmate thing is fairytale nonsense.

Waffleindahouse · 09/09/2026 21:54

He might be your soulmate but youโ€™re certainly not his

DewDropsAndCobWebs · 09/09/2026 21:58

Dude.
So many threads.
He is not , was not , ever, your soulmate.
He used you, he was careless with your heart.
Focus on your healing, the good people in your life, the opportunities you can make for yourself without a cheating scumbag hanging around.

Thegirlwhowent · 09/09/2026 21:59

You're not being unreasonable in some ways. You will get over him, You will probably find someone else and have a very happy life. You will never forget this one but you will come to terms with it.

cupfinalchaos · 09/09/2026 22:00

I felt like you op for a long time. You will get over it.

adcde123 · 09/09/2026 22:04

Following as am looking forward to the day op comes back and say wtf was I thinking! OP we have all been there. Nothing lasts forever and that includes heartbreak - I promise ๐ŸŒธ
