3 year old recently started a new swimming class next to a trampoline park I took him to in the summer so after the lesson he wanted to go. I thought … why not. FML.

It cost £15 plus £3 each for socks so over £20 and all he’s done is whinge and tantrum

ffs

I get raging hunger all day with just 40m of swimming. And dear lord, going to an inflatables soft play takes it out of me. No way I'd do both.

Wear them out often means more like fresh air and free range play rather than something physically intense, yes, even for 30m. And then with breaks and snacks.

I recommend a balance bike as it engages their brains and gets them moving without as much physical effort.

Maybe you need to eat more. I got hungry after swimming as a kid but not as an adult.

Three days a week @BertieBotts , yesterday was the first day back after the summer. I take peoples point about too much but honestly he’s done much more before without any obvious signs of exhaustion of fretfulness. The swimming is a 30 minute thing and it’s me in the pool with him and not especially tiring or requiring extensive concentration although I accept I’m not 3!

I think my mind is just resigned to today being a bit shit; its one of those where whatever you do its wrong 😩😩

TBF those days are par for the course with a 3yo. Flowers The phase will end, I promise. They grow out of it. You can parent perfectly and they will still be three :)
