Washing bamboo bedding at 60 instead of 30 degrees?

I have recently purchased high grade bamboo bedding. It says on the instructions to wash at 30c. I usually wash all of my bedding at 60c to kill any nasties.
My friend is saying just to wash it at 30c, and line dry. I don't feel this would be enough. Has anybody washed it at 60c without it completely falling apart? Otherwise, how do you properly wash it?

UV rays are actually a good disinfectant so your friends suggestion is sensible. Alternatively you could use a laundry sanitiser.

Personally I wash most things at 30 - use an enzyme washing detergents (those ones that are sheets not a liquid) and line dry everything. I am not worried about anything i do being unhygienic.

I wouldn’t wash it hot it will not survive well. The detergent and water should be enough but you could add laundry disinfectant? UV light hanging outside is a good way to kill germs.

Dust mites, bacteria, and skin cells mostly! I've always heard you need 60°C to kill them off properly. I wash everything else at 30c, but 60c for bedding and towels.

Good to know, I didn't know about the different detergents and laundry sheets. Out of interest, what do you do in the winter when you can't hang things outside? Is the different laundry detergent still okay, if they're dried indoors/tumble dried?

I would chance my luck and try 60. Bamboo as a textile is highly processed with lots of chemicals so I would think it could withstand a higher temp for washing.

I do try and hang washing out as much as I possibly can. WFH helps with this because I know I can just dash out and bring it in as soon as it starts to rain and there are few weeks even in in winter when its a total washout weather wise.
When it's totally soggy outside I use a heated airer. Obvs don't get the UV rays then.

Honestly though it's never occured to me that might be an issue.

edited to add - if your using a laundry sanitiser like dettol i'm sure thats effective however you dry it all. (not something i personally use though)
