AIBU to take my baby to class with a runny nose?

11 month old is recovering from a cold. He's had it a week and is over the worst.
He has no fever, sickness or dodgy nappies .

Playing fine and well in himself but he has had a stuffy nose that is running

Would you still attend baby classes?

This one is for 6-12 months so no newborns

If it's just a runny nose would you still go or would you be annoyed if you saw mothers bring their baby recovering from a cold?

YABU - Dont attend
YANBU - You would still attend

As long as you wipe his nose constantly and bring antibac gel/wipes.

If I stopped attending things when my DC were that age and had a runny nose...I wouldn't have gone out from Oct to Mar. It wouldn't cross my mind to be annoyed at a mum who did as long as they were wiping their child's nose etc.

I usually would carry on with classes if it was just a cold yes. Unless they were really ill with it. My children are always picking up illnesses when the weather gets cooler. If I kept them at home for just a cold they would hardly do anything at all for months.

I can't stand dripping snotty noses even on my own kids it's a total ick for me, make me feel sick and makes me gag, I must be one of a kind!
I'm sure you will be wiping and sanitizer all the time so just think of us parents who might struggle with this.

Definitely would, I’d never leave the house in winter otherwise! I would never use antibac gel
on a baby, it has alcohol and so many chemicals in it. I’ve never used anything antibacterial and my daughter is rarely ill

@FierceFireFairy you may be right that snotty noses look gross, but their parents are perfectly entitled to take them out and about. Ideally they should wipe their nose often, definitely before it can drip.

My DC actually hardly ever had a snotty nose, I wasn't keen on wiping it (but obviously I did). Then DC1 became a nose picker and eater which still makes me pull a face, it's so disgusting.

Is your child up to date with their vaccines? Did you have the RSV vaccine in pregnancy? Assuming the answer is yes and that you aren’t aware that any of the others in the group has a condition that makes them particularly vulnerable and your child doesn’t have any other signs of measles/ chicken pox/ scarlet fever etc then yes I would go.

Kids get 8-12 viruses per year and each can last a couple of weeks or more so if you avoid going out every time they get the slightest cold you’ll never go anywhere.
