Well has any relevant party actually made a complaint to Police about a possible crime taking place?

Even assuming they have, what would be the point of Police shutting the venue down hours or days after the event?

There are similar assaults take place every single day in places like football stadia, pubs, and even the street. The Police don't immediately put the place into lockdown and detain the hundreds or thousands of people present, why would they do so here?

Do you really want police shutting down party conferences?

The bar for that should be extremely high indeed.

I am referring to the violence that was inflicted on three separate women (that were captured on video and verified) at the Reform conference. In the videos you can see a large group of men are heavily beating women, dragging them to the floor, kicking them, and pulling their hair.

All violence - everywhere, anywhere, against any person - is, of course, heinous and awful. When it happens at a conference for a lobbying political party who are simultaneously asking the general public to vote them in to govern the country and normalising beating women, it's a significant issue that I would deem worthy of news coverage by a leading news broadcaster.

Where women are being beaten by the attendees? Yes, I should think so.

Are you suggesting that the BBC journalists have not seen this? Are they now relying on the public to bring news topics to them?

They did. It was on the website and on the Today Programme and BH on R4. I'm not sure they should share the videos in the potential victim in them does not want them shared. It is exactly videos such as these being shared on social media with a load of speculation that can make securing a prosecution more difficult.

It's only violence against women, caught on camera, with the perpetrators clearly identifiable, especially if their names are written down in party conference documents.

So you can't expect anything to be done when the victims are women. Even women on this site were victim blaming, asking 'what she did she do before [recording started] to deserve that'.

I very much doubt anyone will ever be prosecuted for this, a clear and recorded assault, and it is horrifying.

No. Deal with the violence, arrest the perpetrators, and let the conference continue.

Good. There should be total outrage, and condemnation for what happened, to those Women.

Perhaps they haven’t been able to get verification yet. They have to have at least a couple of sources. You’d be jumping up and down in them if they posted something that later turned out to be fake. I’m sure, if they have them, they will be doing their due diligence.

As above, they have made reference to it, so it has been verified but they do not deem it to be worthy of a headline. That's why my title says 'directly'. They have indirectly referred to it, buried within an article. It's awful.
