AIBU to think quitting vaping is so bloody difficult?

How the helly do you do it?

I've conquered alcohol dependency, tranquilizer addiction, cigarettes....

But I just cannot kick this one. Maybe part of me doesn't want to. I just tried the Nicorettte spray for the first time and it was absolutely rank.

How did you manage it?

I used it as a tool to stop smoking. Gradually switched to nicotine free. I found using the strong coffee, caramel or tobacco flavours made it easier because you couldn’t tell there was no nicotine. The fruity ones it’s too obvious there’s no hit.

My DH is handy with electronics so he wired up my vape so that every time I used it I received a small electric shock. I stopped within three days. We sometimes use the vape now in the bedroom but that's another story.

What a great day to be literate

I just stopped. I used it to stop smoking and then got obsessed with baking my own coils and juice and it became really expensive. For M6 50th we were going to Singapore and vaping is illegal so I jusr cut down and down till I was on zero juice and then quit.

I bought a box of 150 4mg nicotine gum pieces and had one of those for each of my cravings. That saw me through about two weeks, and then I switched to chewing regular gum through my cravings. I haven't vaped for four months now.

I miss it sometimes but a lot of it is just deciding you don't want to do it anymore and really meaning it. I felt a bit ashamed being a vaper, I focus on that feeling when I feel tempted now.

I used to vape as a means to give up smoking. I mixed my own juice and gradually decreased to zero. There were a few times I couldn't vape. In Singapore where it's illegal. Also, I was in a really remote place in the Scottish Highlands and smashed my tank glass, and couldn't get a replacement because I was in the middle of nowhere. I think from that point I realised I can manage without the vape, but continued to vape at that point.

I started to forget to take it out with me, or got engrossed in work and couldn't be bothered to go to the smoking area off site to vape. Then one day I realised I didn't know where my vape was, and hadn't used it for days.

So in essence go to somewhere where it's illegal, or go to somewhere really remote with no shops and smash your tank 😂
