Would you want to poke his eyes in too?

My husband plays the radio from his phone using an Anker speaker in the kitchen. Fine. He then gets bored, starts scrolling his phone and the audio from the videos he watches comes through the sodding speaker. AIBU to want to poke him in the eye? Good god it's annoying!

Cut the wire on the speaker!

fruitbrewhaha · 04/09/2026 19:55

Hmmm yes. You may have to destroy the speaker/his phone/his eyes or all of the them.

Notajogger · 04/09/2026 19:56

Hide his phone. Cut off his fingers. Turn off the WiFi.

Wire on the speaker? Is it 1994?

Cut the wire on the speaker!

Simply remove the gramophone needle from the record.

I have no truck with things that aren’t connected by a wire. Witchcraft. Burn it at the stake.

(the speaker, not DH)

In circumstances like this, I believe beating him about the neck and shoulders with his infernal speaker to be perfectly reasonable and appropriate behaviour.

Esssa · 04/09/2026 20:23

Haha there is no wire. It's a Bluetooth speaker. Thankfully he got his tea and it's back to radio but it's a daily occurrence. I'll let you know if I need an alibi as to the whereabouts of the speaker. At least I know I'm not being ridiculous about it.

Poke his eyes? Destroy his eyes? Cut off his fingers? Beat him about the neck and shoulders?

Oh well he's a man so it doesn't matter does it? Imagine if these comments were making a joke of violence against women.

AppleButterGutter · 05/09/2026 15:43

We have a Bluetooth speaker. It has an “off” button. Why not use that?

UniquePinkSwan · 05/09/2026 16:00

I’d tell him that it’s annoying and I don’t want to hear it and to take it off the speaker. If you don’t say anything then how will he know. If you do tell him and he doesn’t do it then you have bigger problems

I actually reported this thread because I feel incredibly uncomfortable that poster are happy to use this really aggressive violent language towards men.
I think it says a lot about MN they are happy to let it stand. The double standards on this site is unbelievable at times. And so is the moderation.
