Well done, I feel your pain and hate it - especially the front bottom two teeth. Did they give you the 3rd degree and nag you about flossing?

Well done you OP!

I've gone to the dentists regularly all my life - apart from during Covid - and I still get really anxious and nervous before hand so I can imagine how hard that must have been for you with a phobia. It's great you did it and you really will feel the benefit

Well done!

Is your dental hygiene good enough outside of the dentist? I’ve not has a scale and polish in years but go to regular dentist appointments - with brushing twice a day with an electric toothbrush I don’t get any plaque build up.

Well done for going and for getting through it. Hopefully you had a sympathetic dental hygienist who didn't lecture you. Are you due back in 3 months?

Well done, it needed doing, I've just had 3 sessions of scale and root planing, it shouldn't hurt if the dentist prepares you with numbing gel qnd anaesthetic injections, did they take xrays and measure your gum pockets.

Amazing, well done.

Well done! It took me years to get dental treatment due to a phobia, so I understand the feeling you need to shout it from the rooftops, you did it!!

Wheesht2 · 04/09/2026 13:25

Well done, I feel your fear but now that you have conquered the scale and polish keep it up and remember next time when you feel fear how proud you were today.

Well done! You have done so well! I also suffered from dental phobia, it's horrible. I can manage appointments now but in my twenties/early thirties I had to have sedation for treatment and avoided the hygienist altogether.
