AIBU to consider a tummy tuck and breast reduction for myself?

I lost 75 lbs 11 years ago. Have kept it off. Have saggy skin and rolls on stomach that won’t ever go and it bothers me every day. Same goes for breasts. Just very large, spaniels ears, and droopy.
Presuming I can afford it without putting myself of family in difficulty would I be unreasonable to get an abdominoplasty and breast reduction. I can’t help thinking it’s so vain even though I can say with 100% truth I won’t be showing this to anyone. This is purely for me. Not to have that sensation of being so uncomfortable in my body. I suppose I keep thinking that there’s so much wrong in the world that doing this is somehow pathetic or self obsessed. If that makes any sense.

Do it! 🩷

montysmaw · 04/09/2026 00:34

Do it if you can afford it.
I would bloody love a tuck. I have lost weight too and have 3 kids including twins. You can imagine....... I would do it in a heart beat if I had the money.

Openmouthinsertfood · 04/09/2026 06:18

Same as montysmaw, if I had the means and money I'd do asap!

BudgetBuster · 04/09/2026 07:41

You can't fix the world, but if you can financially have a procedure that will make your life happier and you feel safe doing so then absolutely do it.

Well done on keeping the weight off. Losing it is hard, keeping it off is harder!

I did both together ten years ago, best 10 k ive ever spent, do it !

My mum has this done about 10-15yrs ago. She lives abroad but similar health system to the UK. Her reasoning wasn't through weight loss a excess skin but having had disproportionally, massive boobs since being a teen.

They removed 1kg from each breast and she has a tiny, scar under each. The tummy tuck left a circular mark around her stomach, but over the years its faded. She has no regrets.

I am looking into a tummy tuck at the moment, think the boobs will be an expensive step too far for me but i would consider it

good luck whatever you decide

Bringemout · 04/09/2026 08:00

Do it, even if it is vanity who cares, you have done an amazing job losing so much weight, you should be able to enjoy how you feel in your body, it’s yours, it doesn’t belong to anyone else.

Shatteredallthetimelately · 04/09/2026 16:07

Well done for not only losing 75lb but also managing to keep the weight off, big achievement in itself.

You've had 11 years of carring the extra saggy skin, it's long past your time to have that skin removed and your boobs put back where you want them to be.
Go for it.

MildlyAnnoyed · 04/09/2026 16:39

I did it in December. It was the best thing I could’ve done for myself. I went to Istanbul because I couldn’t have afforded it here. No regrets.

Femalemachinest · 04/09/2026 17:00

I only reason to do it is for yourself! If you want it and can afford it i say go for it.

Pleatherandlace · 04/09/2026 17:03

Go for it.

magicbeany · 04/09/2026 17:14

I have a friend who did this after having two babies in a row. She also had had massive boobs since her teenage years and hated them. She looks incredible now. If you can afford it without going into poverty, why not!

CostcoFanofThree · 04/09/2026 17:16

i had the breast reduction/lift very late in life and should have had the tummy tuck at the same time. huge regret.

KindlySurfiingPlatypus · 04/09/2026 17:23

Go for it! I'm hoping to do this one day but I think my only reasonable source of funds will be the pension lump sum when I retire and it might feel a bit late by then!

MingingRunnersFeet · 04/09/2026 18:25

I had a tummy tuck nearly 6 years ago. Best thing I ever did! I had it on finance. There are companies that specialise in loans for cosmetic surgery. I had a much better interest rate than my own bank could offer.

MatildaTheCat · 04/09/2026 18:27

Do it but in the UK if at all possible.

Good luck and take your time with your research.
