Mumsnet help please! Where can I get 100% pure cotton short sleeved white school shirts for boys aged 15-16 years?
JL have sold out.
My poor boy melted in his M&S polyester shirt today.
Next were as bad last year. Thought I'd swap to M&S this year but he arrived home drenched in a wet shirt all down his back, chest and underarms. He looked unbelievably uncomfortable drenched through when ge walked in the door today, and said he'd been wet through with sweat under his shirt all day.
He absolutely never sweats when dressed in his 100% cotton Tshirts outside of school. But he suffers horrendously in these polyester shirts tucked in to polyester trousers with a nylon blazer over the top and a godamn nylon tie round his neck.
Why do schools make these poor kids dress like this??
Where can I get pure cotton shirts from? And cotton black trousers too?
Urgently needed.
If only JL had his size in stock😓

Very sweaty ezcema teen in our house! We use M&S cotton short sleeve shirts, they are out of stock right now but hopefully if he can get through the first few days they will restock soon.

They also used to do black cotton school trousers but not for a few years. I gave up looking but have found that he can cope with polyester trousers because we make sure shirt, pants and socks are cotton and shoes are leather so at least everything else is breathable!

Thank you - are you able to post a link to their cotton shirts?

Ecooutfitters
There are other business selling organic cotton school uniform but I think Ecooutfitters are the largest.

Thank you for the link. I've just looked but sadly I can't afford £26 for one shirt, as he needs several to get him through the week.

Those are £17.95 but we've managed to make do with 2 and I rotate them on a 20 min wash and they're dry by morning. Maybe even buying one would work... better than nothing?

Oh wow, just found these!! In stock in Medium and large too!

And that's absolutely fair enough, I've only got trousers there because cotton trousers are so hard to get hold of. Most places do 100% cotton shirts though, but if you are looking after school has started, there is inevitably going to be only the dregs left which you should know with a teenager. The usual suspects (JL, M&S, Next etc) will restock school uniform in the new year. Or, since he's a teenager who will fit in small adult clothes, look for cheap men's shirts.
