AIBU to feel overwhelmed after crying at work today?

I cried at work today, I literally feel like I broke down in front of my manager. I'm just so fed up of people dumping jobs on to me and when I try and delegate to someone else they just ignore it. Getting fed up of people doing half a job.
I'm the longest serving staff member and I'm starting to feel that people think that they can just dump jobs on to me knowing I have the knowledge to complete them.
I enjoy my job and I care but this is the first time in 15 years I have ever cried.

You sound overwhelmed and no wonder. Sounds like you need to say no to extra work.
You can only do so much in a day. Speak to your boss if it continues. People are taking advantage.

Assuming these people shouldn't be giving you tasls, your manager needs to support you in setting boundaries.
I've had times where we've said all requests for work must go via managers because it was becoming an unmanageable free-for-all (and there was a fair amount of duplication, too, because people were scatter-gunning the same request to numerous people in the hope at least one of us would do it). Would that work?
You are not unreasonable to be overwhelmed by overwhelming things.

Everyone has cried at work at least once, it won't undermine you unless it is a regular occurence!

If you can afford it, find a work coach who is a good fit for you to help you work through the issues you are facing and support you to make changes as you begin to figure it out. You don't have to carry on like this, it is not sustainable, and you deserve better .
