AIBU to wonder why some posters ask AIBU but reject answers?

To wonder why so many people start AIBU threads if they already have their minds made up?

So many I have noticed ask the question then fight when they are told they AIB.

Surely if one doesnt want the answer, then maybe dont ask the question?

Maybe I am missing something.

Tbf, the responses can be bat shit. It’s natural to push back when people are saying things you know aren’t true or won’t work in the situation you are very familiar with

In their mind they are absolutely right and expect most people to agree with them. For some people being told others disagree is a shock.

They are looking for validation not other points of view

They are looking for other points of view? Or maybe writing it down and hearing the responses makes them more certain about their own viewpoint? No-one is required to change their mind because some people online disagree with them.

I love reading some of the pushback from the OP. There's some right hilarious answers from them to snarky responses.

There's no saving Mrs double beeping at the police car OP though. Mind boggling that one.

Because often they genuinely don’t think they’re the one being unreasonable so they’re just after validation not alternate opinions.
