Has anyone tried Gordon Ramsey’s new restaurant High @ 22 Bishopsgate?

We have a special occasion coming up in a few months and we’re thinking of reserving a table here. We enjoyed watching the Netflix series about the building and launching of the 5 sky high restaurants and I’m also a fan of Gordon! A friend who regards herself as a good food critic went recently and she said it was nothing special which I was surprised to hear. So has anyone been? Tell me your experience…

Yes, it was a good setting, great service, nice views obviously- we had a tasting menu. The food was perfectly adequate, some courses better than others but you go for the vibe. If you want really good food I'd say there's better options but it's a fun evening. Quite pricey I think it ended up around £130 a head.

@TrunkElliot oh no, was it really that bad? Did you say anything to them when I assume they asked how your meal was?

Told them the food wasn’t worth the price.
I don’t think they were particularly bothered 🤷‍♀️

Gordon Ramsay is a brand with 88 restaurants worldwide, I don't suppose he ever cooks in any of them, even if knows where they are.

£250 per person is a bit pricey!

Doesn't even sound nice, oysters and duck... at that price id want a better main then duck

I quite agree. People are just paying for the brand because Gordon Ramsey doesn’t actually cook at them anymore, or certainly not more than once in a blue moon. I have been to (not my choice!) a couple of Gordon Ramsey owned restaurants over the years and they were not worth it. Though interestingly my DH ate at a restaurant about 30 years ago when Gordon Ramsey actually was the chef that evening (came out and said hello) and said it was one of the best meals he has ever had. Only surpassed by Claude Bosi, James Knappett and Ollie Dabbous.

Yes was there last month. The service was very good and the food was amazing!!! However it was very busy and very loud and anyone that struggles in that environment might find it hard. Also the portions were teeny tiny. There was 6 of us in total and it was £620 total with only one drink each. The service charge was £80!!!!!!
