Would you let your kids go in the sea right now if there was a sewage dump at beach just around the coast line?

We are holidaying in south hams Devon. I’ve been quite switched on to sewage dumping after watching dirty business. I checked the surfers against sewage app and notice that there was a sewage dump at a beach just across the estuary from where we are staying on 28th August . Kids are desperate to go in the water and take out the paddle board but I’m now wondering if it’s a good idea. Am I being a kill joy? The beach that we are planning to go to isn’t alerted but it’s close.

No. It's really frustrating, but too often people get ill. But we're in Swansea and regularly have sewage dumps. I drive along the coast and check tides and typical water movement to head away from it.

No, I wouldn't. I checked the same app every day on our recent holiday to Dorset and luckily we were fine, but it would have been a no if there had been a discharge.

WTF is wrong with Britain that we just accept this?! Why does no politician sort this out? I was four or five when I first saw about raw sewage dumping near Blackpool in the news and 35 years later we STILL have to deal with this? Why is there no legal obligation on water companies to clean this water before moving it? Why is it not completely illegal to dump sewage like this? We pay them to remove water from our properties as part of our water bill, they have had money to deal with this from us all and instead of treating it, they are ruining our beaches and holidays. And presumably leaving us with less freshwater in our reservoirs. It makes me so angry but no MP seems to give a shit. 🤬
