Can you get a negative pregnancy test still after 2 weeks? Advice needed

Okay so I got a coil swap 2 weeks ago. From the mirena to the Kyleena. So this was a Tuesday just over 2 weeks ago. But without any judgement when the nurse asked me have I had any unprotected sex in the last 7 days I said no but I did on the Saturday night. But I assume this wouldn’t be of any pregnancy risk because it was a straight swap over in the same appointment. She took the old coil out and put the new one straight in. But then with this new one she told me to use condoms for 7 days? But then another nurse told me it would be immediate protection if it was a straight swap over so I didn’t use any protection. We had sex every day. But fast forward to today my boobs are so sore and nipples are so sensitive. I rung the clinic and they said this is odd considering the mirena coil has way more hormones in it than the new one I have (the Kyleena). I have done multiple pregnancy tests including a digital one and they are all negative. But it would only be about 2 weeks from conception. Today I have really light pink spotting aswell. Wasn’t I protected and no risk of pregnancy if it was a straight swap over?

Haven't you already posted about this previously? I assume you didn't take the morning after pill after the unprotected sex? The spotting could be implantation bleeding but only time will tell.

one of the nurses told me I would be protected straight away then another one said to use condoms

Most pregnancy tests are really sensitive so after 2 weeks I would assume no pregnancy.

TrojanDonkey · 29/08/2026 13:58

I thought in your previous thread you’d said you’d had unprotected sex every day?

7238SM · 29/08/2026 14:02

I thought in your other post, you said the nurse said not to have unprotected sex for 7 days, now you say there were 2 nurses with conflicting info. I'm afraid none of us know if you are pregnant or not.

You’ve posted this before and the tests were negative then, and are negative now, you aren’t pregnant. Why are you still obsessing about this?

Catza · 29/08/2026 14:15

As per your previous thread, none of us know if you are pregnant or not. It was silly to disregard the advice, surely you would go with safest option of using protection anyway if you received conflicting advice. You'll just have to wait and see now. And stop wasting your money on tests as it only appears to trigger your anxiety. Most people wouldn't test after the first, maybe the second negative. How many tests will it take you to believe that you are not pregnant?

I missed a period when TTC and spent weeks convincing myself I was pregnant and the negative tests were wrong. I wasn't pregnant. To be 100% wait a week or 2 then accept the results?

PinkFrogss · 29/08/2026 14:43

You’ve been testing for nearly 2 weeks now OP and if you were pregnant you would have had a positive test.

It sounds a lot like you actually do want a baby, but now is not the right time. Is there anyone you can talk to about this for some irl support?
