I have some health anxiety and today was ironing, i read once that to get burnt marks off the iron you can use an asprin. I got an asprin as i have done before and rubbed it on. It puthered and gave off a smoke as the burnt on substance melted, presumably it was some sort of plastic. I coughed and immediately put it down and opened the windows but now I'm scared stiff I have breathed in something terrible and it'll affect my health or I need to see someone. I feel fine, my daughter was in the same room at the other end and didn't smell anything so It can't have gone far so I must have literally breathed it in. I do suffer with anxiety so just looking for reassurance!

If you’d been exposed to it for weeks and months then you may have a problem but I think you’ll be fine after that very minimal exposure.

At worst this will be an insignificant exposure and won't have done any serious damage. Please don't worry about it! The stress will do more damage to your health.

Have you ever had help for your health anxiety? That would be worth while I think.

Reassurance is not helpful with health anxiety. It just perpetuates the cycle of anxiety. You need to learn to sit with distress.
