I bought a velvet jumpsuit to wear to my son's wedding tomorrow, but I have put on 14kg since then, due to mainly medication for anxiety. I have just found a gold spangly top that fits me and some stretchy black pants. Is that ok? I am leaving in 1 hour. Ta

It's not all black, so do it if it's what makes you feel comfortable.

Depends if it’s a formal wedding or not. Ultimately you have to be comfy but if your asking is it ‘weddingy ’ enough then no not really, it’s more Christmas party work night out. BUTif you’re happy with it then go for it.

Sounds amazing! You go girl!

Yes - most weddings don’t follow TikTok rules. If you’re worried, let the bride know and enjoy the day.

YABU to ask for opinions, late in the evening, an hour before you leave.

You clearly don't have options, so how is it going to help you if everyone says "No, that doesn't sound suitable" ?

If you were my mother, I'd want you to feel good and comfortable on the day. The outfit sounds lovely. Enjoy the day

I wore a black jacket and hat with a black and white dress to my son’s wedding.
it was in July 11 years ago and ended up being the hottest day of the year!
I felt I looked absolutely fine and had a lovely day!

My mum wore a black suit to mine - she doesn't do colour Grin. I certainly didn't care. I've also worn a black and bronze dress to a wedding - so long as people don't turn up in a wedding dress type of outfit, it's all good imo.
