To be annoyed about Channel 4’s news broadcast of OnlyFans girls talking about ‘global warming’

I was so shocked last night to be watching the news and see OnlyFans girls on the TV pre-watershed (8pm) in lingerie lying on a bed quite suggestively talking about global warming. They were talking about how they wanted to use their platform and reach to make the world ‘more aware’ of global warming. It felt like a really low point for the news and it feels like we are glorifying the fact you have to sell yourself in order to have a platform big enough to be heard?

I am in no way judging these girls, each to their own, but I don’t want my children to think this is what you have to do to be heard. One google search and you can read about how one of the girls slept with over 1000 men in 24 hours…

Is this what things are coming to?

I think being paid £3.50 a month from someone, to get your fadge out, is not moral high-ground territory.

I thought it was ridiculous. No idea what they were trying to do.
Attract a younger, stupider, less moral audience to C4 News? Not sure that's how to do it.

@Coconutter24for goodness sake, everyone judges everyone if we are to put it literally aren’t we? What I meant was i am not shaming them or saying they aren’t entitled to a voice, but there is a time and a place

I object to them being called " Only Fans girls/ women. They are sex workers working in the sex industry.

What was funny was dh (nearly retired and not very up to date with a lot of online stuff) looking confused and asking “eh what fans? Whose fans are they? Is this a band?” Teenage ds was in hysterics 😂

But yes it was a very strange thing to have on the 7pm news.

I'm trying to teach my young boys that women/girls are not objects and yet they could easily turn the news on and receive a message of yep they are. Even to talk about global warming they have to be in their underwear to be heard. Where's the men in their underwear talking about global issues?

That’s good to hear @MightyGoldBear, we are the same in this house & yet as you say, they have completely gone against that way of thinking with this new ‘idea’
