AIBU to think copying my style is wrong?

AIBU to think that my friend - let's codename her Sharon - is wrong to start copying me?

Recently, Sharon has copied my hair, fashion, and make-up. She has died her hair blonde and curled it like mine. She has started wearing lots of green just like me. She has bought the exact same lipstick I use.

She has started copying my London accent. Sharon's accent changed almost overnight. One day she had a Birmingham accent, the next she had a London accent.

Last year, she also decided to buy the same car that I have - in the same colour as well. She bought the same front door that I have. She has bought the same keyboard that I use.

AIBU to think this is really weird of Sharon?

Have you seen the film Single White Female ?!

Have you commented?

Some people will no doubt tell you that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, (that's what my Mum used to say) but I say B.S. on that one! My DS used to do this to me, and I am the youngest one. Whatever new clothes I bought as a teenager, she would buy the same thing, then as we got older, if I bought a new cooker, she would buy a new cooker, if I had a new car, she had to have a new car, and so it went on. It drove me absolutely NUTS, so I totally get where you're coming from OP. It does seem weird to the person who is being copied, but I guess at the end of the day, she admire's your style, and wants to be like you. However, if she were my friend, I'm afraid I'd be distancing myself as it would just annoy me too much.

Did you notice how much easier it has been recently to get clothes in green? Fashion.

I had a boyfriend who did this year's ago

I bought paint for my bedroom,he went and bought the same paint for his room

If i bought (say)a loo brush/curtains/bedding/toothbrush,he would fall over himself to buy the same thing, from the same shop and have it in his flat as soon as he could

I couldn't buy anything without him rushing out to buy himself the same item

Fuck that-i finished it with him and redecorated (I'm told he never did)

I found it creepy and very odd-it was like he had no taste of his own

I'd be pulling away from this friendship and fast

Well I would say “Sharon, what is going on with this copying? You are not me. I am not you. Its actually creepy, stalker like behaviour. I like you as you are, not this fake bullshit, I mean down to copying my accent. Really
Whats next? Getting the same job? Stealing my boyfriend ?
I dont want you copying me, if it carries on then I will be distancing myself.
Wait while she says its not deliberate. Then stop seeing her

I had a friend like this, admittedly we were teens so more understandable but drove me round the bend! Got to the point when she told me her 'other friends' (fictional) had bestowed upon her a nickname that just so happened to be my surname!
I scarpered from that friendship.

My sil is like this. Her house now has 5 key and very noticeable items mine has, that are unusual . She’s went out and bought the same and placed the in the same locations in her home as me. One is a very expensive alteration she’s also had added. On the last one she’s done her husband actually said to her, don’t you think it’s too much now, and she was like no no, she even told me. I find it very uncomfortable but just said it looked great. What else can you say. It’s not like I’ve the copy right.

she also does it with clothes, if I appear wearing say something like a cream jumper , she eyes me up and down appraising and then goes and changes into a cream jumper about an hour later.

i find it so so uncomfortable. But if i say something it makes me look so petty. So I shut up.
