AIBU to ask neighbours to limit early and late garden football?

What time is reasonable for kids to be playing in the garden?

Neighbour behind me has set up football net up against the fence on our boundary. Kids normally smacking a football against it from 6:30 am till past 9pm

I’ve just been woken up past 10pm of them kicking the football against my fence.

I’ll be honest the constantly smacking of the football against the fence drives me crazy. I’ve mentioned it’s annoying 5 years ago when he moved in and it didn’t seem to change anything. He only tells the kids to go in when he sees my dad as he’s scared off him

Am I unreasonable to go round tomorrow to ask him to not let them in the garden till this time?

Buy the loudest, most annoying windchimes you can find and only agree to take them down when they agree to reasonable hours for the football.

6:30am is ridiculous.
If you and your neighbours dont have pets or kids of your own may I suggest getting one of those cat deterant machines, the noise they emit can't be heard by adults but can by kids and its really unpleasant for them. It would certainly discourage the kids from playing in the garden 😈

To many cats unfortunately. I did go round today to say I put up with a lot with them constantly being in the garden smacking the ball against the wall. I can easily become unreasonable.

He played the same card he’s played since he’s moved in which is he’s divorced and doesn’t see the kids all the time.

Other neighbour has been recorded the noise levels and times and has complained to the council

I would tell him he would have better quality time by sitting with the kids indoors talking and playing games or watching tv than them playing football

It’s the same annoying sound as a bouncing ball at a hoop. It really can get to you so I don’t think you are BU at all.

I can hear those - our neighbours had one for cats and it was really unpleasant.

Don't assume only kids can hear it!

WTF has that got to do with anything? I'm usually one to roll my eyes at people moaning about kids making noise but even 8am would be pushing the bounds of acceptability, 6.30 is totally beyond the pale.

Then you have very unusual hearing to be able to hear 1 if you're over 25 as most people naturally losses the ability to hear those frequencies by then

I’m 42 and can hear them also and I’ve moderate hearing loss!

Send your Da around @Goldielocks2p22 to the misogynistic prick next door.

I get the impression he thinks he’s a Disney dad but the kids do seem to spend the entire time at his in the garden kicking the ball against the fence.

Ive mentioned to him about taking them out and now they’ve abit older about 2 mins away is a field where loads of kids play football.

It’s more them playing it past 10pm as my bedroom is at the back and it wakes me up. My dad appeared yesterday as he was doing something in the garden so I’ll get him to speak to him when he comes back today
