Daft things people have said that you ever so slightly believed

So, stupid things ppl have said to you. especially when you were younger, that you didnt really believe but ever so slightly did.

Years and years ago, before drugs were really a thing, my first boyfriend, who had never smoked drugs but knew ppl who did, bumped into a guy he knew when he was in the pub with me..The guy, who did smoke, said he really liked what I was wearing. My boyfrien took me to one side and, with real earnest, and out of earshot of the guy, told me that when you smoke drugs you develop an interest in fluffy jumpers and soft fabric and have to feel it and touch it. For ages afterwards I genuinely thought that smoking gave you a particular fixation with mohair jumpers.

Also, a relative who told me when I was a young child that if I ever told a lie my forehead would turn black and everybody would see I was a liar. I believed that too..

And ( I'm sure a lot of women have heard this one) the boy who fancied me and said if men didnt have sex their balls could, in certain circumstances, swell up and burst. I secretly half believed it even though I thought it sounded ridiculous.

My dad told me that the 3 witches in Macbeth were called Groucho, Chico and Harpo. I was far too old to have fallen for it but he convinced me.

At the beach my Granda told me the seventh wave was always the biggest.
I believed that for years then realised it was to shut me up with my constant questions.
