I’m typing this from Tesco.

Why are you letting them do this?

PickAChew · 13/08/2026 09:05

Just supervise your child instead of mumsnetting.

Seeline · 13/08/2026 09:05

If a child cannot control the trolley then they don't get to push it.

If the rage is coming from people who have been run over I don't blame them. You should be parenting your child.

WoollyandSarah · 13/08/2026 09:05

Why would you let your child push the trolley if the push it into people.

According to the leader if a first aid couse I went on about 30 years ago, you can kill someone with a shopping trolley, if you hit their varicose veins. No idea if that's true.

Hotupnorth · 13/08/2026 09:05

The last time it happened, the trolley got shoved back to the parent, with an accompanying dirty look.

Floatlikeafeather2 · 13/08/2026 09:05

Why is your child pushing the trolley at all?

Blarn · 13/08/2026 09:06

I think I would judge you for being on your phone while your child pushes their trolley into people. I might scroll through mumnset when I got home to see if anyone from.hete was in the shop and started a thread about parents being on phones with unruly children.

KimWexlersPonyTail · 13/08/2026 09:07

Maybe put your phone down and parent your child?

incrediblyincredible · 13/08/2026 09:26

😂😂😂😂

I used to work in a shop and some parents and kids are unbelievable. The parents who ignore their child terrorising other customers and the kids who speak to their parents in a way that would have earned me a slap.

SandrenaIsMyBloodType · 13/08/2026 09:32

Of course not. If my child pushed a trolley into someone one, that would be an accident and I don’t rage about accidents. If they did it twice, that would be poor parenting on my part and I wouldn’t get the rage about that either. I would just step it up and do better.

Second this. Don't be one of those twattish parents OP.

Dlew · 13/08/2026 11:39

Do not let children push trolleys when they don’t have control of them. You could really hurt someone who is fragile or nursing an injury.

purplecorkheart · 13/08/2026 11:41

Do you mind other people kids pushing the trolley into you? Did you put the wrong title due to your rage?

If it is some other customers child then yes you are right to be annoyed.

If it is your own child get off mumsnet and take the trolley off them.

BinNightTonight · 13/08/2026 11:44

Ive literally never had this happen, ever 😂

IdentifyingAsAWoollyMammoth · 13/08/2026 11:45

I "accidentally" pushed my trolley into a TV comedian in Waitrose because I heard him being so rude and demeaning to his wife in the frozen food aisle.

CookieDoughJoe · 13/08/2026 11:46

Those mini trolleys are one of the worst inventions ever.

MargaretMeldrew · 13/08/2026 11:51

I dunno. Neither of my children pushed trolleys into anyone. And if they had, I imagine the victim would be a lot more raging than me. My eldest did lie down in front of my trolley a couple of times as a protest. He HATED shopping😅 Can’t say I blamed him. Some children lie in any available empty shelf, which I find hilarious. Probably not so funny if the shelf collapsed.

caringcarer · 13/08/2026 12:01

Push the trolley yourself then.

SheWillBeTheDeathOfMe · 13/08/2026 12:03

I’m calling trolley bait on this thread

Ilovemyshed · 13/08/2026 12:06

F anyone pushed a trolley near my elderly Dad when we are shopping they get short shrift. He shops, I am a rottweiler around him.

starpatch · 13/08/2026 12:09

My son couldnt be trusted with the trolley until he was 14! I just kept hold of it and wouldnt let him have a go after the first offence.

Hippywannabe · 13/08/2026 12:22

Granddaughter wanted one of thise tiny trolleys this morning. Shop was full of elderly people, she's 4. I said no.
She carried a packet of biscuits instead. No drama.
It's ok to say no!

WonderWeeksArentReal · 13/08/2026 12:32

I'm thinking this is a reverse and someone's kid just pushed a trolley into you, OP.

NasiDagang · 13/08/2026 12:45

Someone might punch your face😂😂😂
