Struggling to wait for my gynae appointment :(

I am highly suspecting endometriosis and the last few days have been unbearable.

I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago.

I have always struggled with my periods - they are regular but extremely painful. Luckily they only last a few days but they are very heavy (I leak a lot) and I can never empty my bowels when I’m on my period as the cramp shoots up me and it’s unbearable!

I have always had a flat stomach and for the last few months I’ve been bloated 24/7. I’ve felt absolutely huge, I’ve put on 1 or 2 trouser sizes and had to sell half my other clothes.

I’ve also been very puffy in the face.

I went to a&e for it in February and they didn’t see anything sinister but they said my urine was infected (weird, i usually notice a UTI) so I took antibiotics. Also, a recently blood test showed raised levels of inflammation. They referred me for an internal ultrasound.

This took place at the end of May. The lady said I had some ovarian cysts but nothing sinister. She did point out that my uterus was very close to my ovary which could likely indicate endometriosis (as it is likely tissue sticking).

Annoying the referral to gynaecology didn’t go through and I had to push the GP into referring me.

I have an appointment at the end of September (which I know in hindsight is a short wait) but I don’t think I can wait that long! That’s just a consultation as well.

I’m absolutely huge this week, even my bigger trousers are tight. And I’m now getting pain and I’m not on my period - I’ll get intermittent cramping when I go to the toilet.

Yesterday I was getting intermittent throbbing pain both in my lower side and my lower back. It’s not so bad today.

I’m just so worried and I just can’t live like this anymore. I’m sick of wearing baggy clothes and feeling uncomfortable. I really look 6 months pregnant!

Edit to add - I’ve had a clear colonoscopy and a clear endoscopy and biopsy!

Any advice or even just a cheer up would be lovely :(

It’s hard. I waited a year on morphine screaming in pain and blown up like a balloon. My appointment kept getting cancelled. It was 8 months from my appointment to my surgery date

@ghostperfume6 sorry to hear that :( did the surgery reveal what you thought and did it help?

I have endo.

i recommend dresses.

Also painkillers and Buscopan. Daily fibre tablets helped me with the bowel symptoms.

NHS waiting lists are awful, and they aren’t better than what you are experiencing for life threatening investigations and treatments unfortunately.

If you can afford to go private then that is a valid option.

IBS management techniques may help in the interim. Including buscopan. You can buy it over the counter.

no and yes. I knew it was stage 4 but it was much worse than the MRI showed and the surgery was a lot longer and needed 2 surgeons
its helped massively and I’ve also had a mirena in
