Are there a tonne of deliveroo type cyclists where you live and if no where do you live so I can live there too

Absolutely sick of their creepy sinister balaclava action.

Also I don't understand why anyone would find it palatable or even hygienic to have these blokes and their rank bike paniers transporting food for them and their families. (Yes I know they're often not transporting food)

🤣 delayed Chinese delivery?

SleeplessInWherever · 06/08/2026 22:02

Cheshire.

Lots of people on bikes, all of them recreational and wearing Lycra, not balaclavas.

No, I don't use them (police in the family and too many stories about them so I wouldn't even if it didn't give me the heaves thinking about where those panniers have been).

I just don't want to share pavement space with them any more.

It's got to the point where I can pick your bonkers posts out before I open them...

Because it gets cold riding a bike in all weathers?

Why would you care about the insulated box? You don't spoon your curry directly out of it

YouBelongWithMe · 06/08/2026 22:04

I'm so naïve. Are Deliveroo drivers delivering something other than tacos and hangover McDonalds?

Anyway, don't come to Edinburgh. We're hoaching with them.

WhatAMarvelousTune · 06/08/2026 22:04

Not really. Deliveroo charge an extra delivery fee for my village as it’s rural, so we hardly ever see them.

strawberrylemons · 06/08/2026 22:04

That would drive me mad too, move to the south west, we’ve only just got deliveroo where I live and it takes an hour and a half for delivery, just how it should be lol

OneCalmFish · 06/08/2026 22:05

For my other half the issue is them riding on the pavements, nearly got ran into pushing our little ones buggy. Rants every time he sees one now and it’s often to be fair

Muchtoomuchtodo · 06/08/2026 22:05

Very few here in our part of South Wales. It’s a different story in Cardiff though

Drugs and weapons.

About half of the drivers are not entitled to work in the UK so if they assault you on arrival it can prove impossible to find out who or where they are.

Who order drugs on Deliveroo?

We can just wait 3hrs for a German Doner Kebab that is certifiably not German.

A lot of people order drugs that are delivered by couriers with deliveroo boxes and outfits.

We always order to collect the very odd time we order takeaway. Not keen on having my food rattle up the road on an electric bike in a dirty insulated bag!

Yeah same. Cold unhygienic food delivered across walkways by sullen staring men in ski masks mm mm yum.

Never heard of that.

As far as I was aware it was all Snapchat and QR codes nowadays.

But then I’ve never ordered drugs, or indeed weapons, so really wouldn’t know.

Assuming you haven’t either?

No, like I said, I know a lot of people who work to pick up the pieces left behind by criminals. I wouldn't put drugs in my body delivered by these guys any more eagerly than food.

OP posts:
CurdinHenry · 06/08/2026 22:16

And you presumably appreciate that the QR code doesn't magic the drugs to your door.

I misread the thread title as OP wanting to move to somewhere with more Deliveroo cyclists, and am faintly disappointed this hasn’t turned out to be a randy old lady who just can’t get enough of sweaty young men in cycle shorts.

JudgeJ · 06/08/2026 22:17

Deepest Norfolk here, the only place to do delivery is the chip shop!

OhMyGoodieAunts · 06/08/2026 22:17

It’s awful where I live too. Horrible e-bikes with men wearing balaclavas, thick gloves, and long sleeves even in summer. You can barely see their eyes.

hahabahbag · 06/08/2026 22:17

Not seen any here, Deliveroo comes by car or motorcycle here as semi rural.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 06/08/2026 22:18

Ours tend to come on something motorised as the distances are greater, being slightly rural. But yes, in some cities these guys are a menace, cycling all over pedestrianised areas.

🤣 fair enough

Near me its cyclists - and theyre bloody agressive and rude as well! Zero consideration for us all slowing down for them!

What a fabulous word, I shall use it.

I have spent the day on Reading and can not get over the amount of kamikaze delivery bikes. So stay away from Reading.
