AIBU to think disposable gloves worn multiple times. in shops are unhygienic?

Whilst shopping, I saw a couple both wearing very grubby disposable gloves which had holes in them.

If they are wearing these thinking they are protecting themselves, they are absolutely wrong.

Disposable gloves are meant to be used once and touching as little different things as possible.

Whereas disposable gloves in shops - touch hundreds of items, face. Germs can sit on a disposable glove.

I would love to do a swab on my hands and then on their gloves and watch the cultures develop nasties on Petri dishes. I bet my hands which are bare and last time I washed them - an hour ago has less nasties than the gloves samples.

I remember during Covid people wearing gloves but touching their mask, face, food (delete as appropriate)! Absolutely pointless just wash/ sanitise your bloody hands! I shouted it in my head not at the actual person!!

Totally agree, gloves being used to touch everything aren’t clean, it’s better to just wash your hands regularly.

Shop staff sometimes wear them because customers give cash with all sorts on it (there was one very well known for handing notes with brown stuff on, and I wish this wasn't serious). That doesn't protect other customers, but as long as tey don't touch their face etc it stops it getting on them.
If these people you see are customers, again, if they don't touch their face/hair etc and remove their gloves as they exit, I suppose they don't pick up bacteria. Won't help them wehn people sneeze and cough on them obviously.

I worked in a dental hospital and the amount of non clinical people (mostly receptionists) who would use the keyboard, go to the toilet etc and never change their gloves or wash their hands was astounding- it’s like they think it’s a protective layer and they never have to change or wash them. So bad
