School skirts with pockets

Am I missing something here? Nowhere, I mean nowhere, can I find traditional grey school skirts with pockets. Proper ones, in the seam, on the sides, not decorative ones at the front.

Morrisons had them last year but I've been in this year and they're the same as everywhere else. Pocketless!

@ViaRia01 It’s the latest fad. You see it all the time on the style threads. Plus there are even bridal gowns with pockets! It’s totally silly.

I put my speech notes, lipstick, and compact in my bridal pockets.

The groomy/groomal pockets only required speech notes and a pocket watch. He had many, many pockets. That seemed like poor design.

Out of interest, why would a child need pockets? I can’t think of anything, except maybe a tissue, that a child would need constant access to.

But every single boys trousers will have them...kids carry crap and why not.

Seriously a tissue, her phone, a tampon, cash...

@BogRollBOGOF And how silly do they look. Oh wait, they get their wives and girlfriends to carry their stuff. Girls with bulging pockets look as bad as boys stuffing things into them. Boys take bags to school too!

I've never seen anyone of either sex look silly because they conveniently kept small items in a pocket.

Plus it saves rummaging around for small items lost in a big bag.

Are you joking? I take it you’ve never met a child?
sticks, pebbles, flowers, notes from their friends, little trinkets they find/trade, (yes I tell them not to, no I don’t allow them to take things to school), lip balm, a small transition object that comforts them, fidgets…I’m sure there’s more.

Dd likes the ones from M&S that have pockets, they are right near the top.
