Aibu? Music/Videos on the train

Am I being unreasonable to be annoyed at people who play music or videos out loud on public transport?

I am on a train from the north to the south at the moment. Upgraded to standard premium as a treat as it's a 2+ hour journey. There is a family on here, and the mother is watching a very loud movie or video on her phone, and the father is occasionally randomly listening out loud to some random shit (varying from what sounds like a prayer app to white noise, it's weird). I don't want to hear your fucking videos or music or whatever else. Just put headphones on and keep it to yourself.

Surely everyone is annoyed by this 😩 I would never do this for fear of people telling me to shut up!

And before anyone asks - I do have headphones on but can still hear their shit!

I'm with you. Bugbear of mine. I don't get how people can be so self centered.

Premium economy on a train?! Confused

Haha sorry it's standard premium. Had the plane terminology in my head!

I have been known (on buses), if the offender refuses to turn down their crap, to move as near to their seat as possible, and turn on Anarchy In The UK (Sex Pistols) as loud as possible until they get the message. It helps that I'm quite 'well-built'.

YANBU. A bloke was playing videos on the bus earlier & the only reason I didn’t say something was that I think people who do that are a lot more likely to be violent to anyone who objects. After all they obviously don’t understand social rules…

I think if people on public transport don’t turn their noise off after being asked once, they should be ejected at the next stop.

Yeah I completely agree - I am happy to rant about it here but I would struggle to tell someone in person to be quiet. I'm not a wallflower but people can react really badly to such innocent things.

I do agree that people shouldn't be given an out if they have been asked once. It isn't fair to others.

I agree. Every time i catch a train i have to listen to rubbish music, films and endless facebook adverts at full volume. Then there the people who think that everyone wants to virtually attend their meeting.

It infuriates me, wear the headphones people.
