Just asking for traffic.
We watched a movie being filmed and i asked my older teens to go cinema with me to watch it. They both agreed we will watch it together.

they prebooked it with their cousins opening night so trying to arrange another night when all three of us are free is hard.

my eldest took all day and serveral times of asking if he was free, finally confirmed he was free saturday night, when we went to book the tickets its all booked up till a midnight showing.

the cinema is 45mins drive away.

when i said that id prefer a earlier evening and will wait and try again until a time we go in the next few weeks showing rather than midnight they both said i was being difficult and wasting there time, one swore at me and the other one booked the tickets and said its now or never.

do i go? or stand my ground and not go?

So they rebooked to go with their cousins, leaving you out. Then one wouldn’t commit, then when they did tickets were all unavailable and when you said the time wasn’t okay with you one of them swore at you and the other said it was tough and if you don’t go then they won’t go?

OP, kindly, you need to sort your kids out if this is how they treat you. They seem to be being very unkind.

Edited

im not with their father and the cousins are on their fathers side.

youngest lives with me and finished college so has been between houses and he was at his fathers house when tickets were released and booked it while there.

we spoke about going opening night before it was out in the cinema, when tickets came out i texted them and youngest said already booked it with cousins.
my oldest works aswell so can only do evenings and lives with father.
and didnt confirm till late.

I’m confused, not sure what their dad has to do with it?

It sounds as though they have treated you badly and spoken to you terribly to be honest. Do you want to go? If you do then go, if not don’t. But you should talk to them about their attitude towards you as it doesn’t sound kind in this instance.

If your kids think it is ok to treat you like that you have way bigger problems than trying to arrange a cinema visit with them.

theneighbourhadaladder · 31/07/2026 15:50

Their rudeness is unacceptable. I wouldn't tolerate that.

Not that its relevant in the light of their shitty attitude, but you are not BU to refuse to book a late showing for you, and they are not BU to book theirs and not have to wait weeks to go and see the movie.

grinandslothit · 31/07/2026 15:55

Sounds like your ex shitty attitude and behaviour has rubbed off on your grown sons

I think I would just go by myself than put up with their abuse

Allseeingallknowing · 31/07/2026 15:59

I wouldn’t want to go with them!

Loulou4022 · 31/07/2026 16:47

Book your tickets when it suits you and go on your own! No need to put up with any of their crap!!
