I almost worry that being in this position and politics will ruin him and the person he is, really hope not

Hes got momentum and making decisions ill give him that. Couldnt STAND when RR and KS "floated" ideas around and caused monyhs of uncertainty. I work in an industry to do with the housing market and its been an absolute killer the will they/wont they do things

He’s a do-er and very confident in his decisions and actions. He’s not one for sitting on the sidelines heckling and moaning. He won’t get a lot of it right, but I like that he’s being a very visible leader and appears to be getting stuck in. He was a fantastic mayor for Manchester and had a lot of cross party political goodwill and popular support, and he improved a lot of things. Let’s hope he can do it nationally. It’s very hard to argue with lots of his priorities - ending homelessness, improving adult social care, and skills for young people to name three. Anyone arguing against these would be very mean mouthed indeed.

I do think he should be focusing more on immigration too, he mentioned it, but only very briefly.

I think you’re confusing the current government with Reform.

Maybe people are starting to realise that change is needed. ‘Keep doing the same and the same happens’. After years and years of Conservative pilfering to support private venture and reductions to funding which supports the collective, and Refom division, maybe it is time to come together.

England and Wales are struggling, so much needs putting right. I’m hoping that this is the start of some positive action where people come together, divisions stopped, groups not pitted against each other. Stop blaming others.

We are all in this together and if we want our country to thrive, attitudes need to change so that we work together to improve things

My comments are not particular to the NHS, more the bigger picture of change needed, linked to the OP’s post.

As a strong leader, AB has a lot to evaluate and work out. He is currently in the first layer of quick wins.

I’m glad he’s getting stuck in. He won’t get everything right of course, who does? But he seems confident in his own abilities and that’s reassuring. I was so disappointed in Starmer because while I expected him to be dull but get on with making stuff better, I didn’t expect the flip flopping and “island of strangers” bollocks. It felt like he was trying (and failing) to appeal to right wing voters and it didn’t even work. Unless Burnham really fucks things up (and I mean really) I’d definitely feel confident voting Labour again.
