How did you stop your DS or DS bully??

Okay, my friend a few years back did something I thought was unhinged.
Her daughter (8) was getting bullied badly. School would speak to bully and never take any further action. One day my friend went to school and hung around outside gates and witnessed the bullying herself, she videoed it, school still did nothing and gave her into trouble for videoing other children.

My friend saw from her spy activities that it was one girl who was doing the bullying.
She then one lunchtime purchased a milkshake from mcdonalds, saw a group of older lads who looked rough, offered them money to take said milkshake, approach girl, throw milkshake at her and said if she bullies anyone much worse will happen.

Bullying stopped. Instantly.

I always thought she was batshit and said if found out she would be arrested now being a mum... I am not saying I would do exact same but, I totally get it.

It got me thinking what ways did you stop your children getting bullied??

I was bullied badly.

I would do this for my daughter in a heartbeat. Good on this mum!

We follow procedure
The teacher is informed if it continues it's escalated to the head, and the parent is spoken to, if it continues we write to the board of governors and the LEA. If that all fails we let the child kick the shit out of the bully.

Great solution! My friend, a single father, went to the house of the girl who was the ring leader of his daughters bullies and told the father that it had to stop. No threats. Just told him. It didn't. So he went back and beat the shit out of the bloke. It stopped. Not the best solution but it sorted the issue.

Personally I'd do thd same but I would have spelt out what to the father the consequences on my first visit.

Yes the police were involved. But my friend grew up in the same place as me and being in trouble with the law is a common event...he told the police that the father had attacked him admitting he'd be shouting and was angry. Got a caution.

Nup all that just keeps the cycle going. All anyone sees from that is the one that is strongest gets to hurt who they want.

Invariably as these kids grow into adults women and girls will be weaker and are therefore it’s ok to harm them, just because. And then you’ll all be wringing your hands about vawg.

I’d pay an older child to do that.

My sister threatened the child's mother. It worked.

Schools so absolutely nothing to stop bullying. All this crap about pathways and procedures means nobody ever gets properly told off or faces any real consequences. The bullies soon get to know what's what and adjust their tactics accordingly.

My son was bullied by 3 boys in Y6. Despite me constantly reporting the bullying school nothing happened. My son is very big for his age and a gentle giant who couldn’t understand why these boys would be so mean (suspect he might be on the spectrum) He has also Thai boxed since he was 5. I warned school that eventually he was going to snap if they didn’t deal with it.
Well sure enough that’s what happened one of the boys tried to start a fight with him and the other two joined in. 3 boys against 1. My son punched the first one who fell to the floor and then the second one who also fell to the floor the third one ran away.
I got called in to school at pick up and I just said I told you so. He actually had about 5 other boys come up to him afterwards saying well done and thank you.
Unfortunately one of the boys involved was my really good friends son and I had spoke to her about her sons behaviour and asked her to speak to him.

Her retort was not my son…. He’s kind he wouldn’t do that. My son missed all the leavers stuff in Y6 because he didn’t want to be around these boys. We haven’t spoken since.

Sorry meant to say yes I absolutely would do that!
