Violent ex looking for me on local Facebook groups

Sorry I don't know where to post this

My violet ex boyfriend is posting on local Facebook groups looking for me, saying I'm his sister who he lost contact with.

I only know because a colleague told me and asked if I wanted contact.

Someone has already commented and told him they have seen me in my local area.
What can I do? I'm really scared he is extremely violent.
I never went to the police and left him with the help of my parents
I'm scared someone is going to tell him where I work or live

His mum has a really popular missing pets group and it's posted on there so people will probably trust it.

Speak to the Police, tell them what you have said on here.

Phone the police now

This sounds so stressful. I think the police do need to be told, but you can also get advice from Paladin or the Suzy Lamplugh trust.

LilyLemonade · Yesterday 20:35

I would go straight to the police.

Dancingonlies · Yesterday 20:37

Contact the police for sure, but I’d also ask a friend to message privately administrators (not the mum obviously) and say you have safety reasons not to be in contact please could they delete.

Noshowlomo · Yesterday 20:40

Please tell the police.
Create a fake fb and say please do not give any information to this man, he has a history of violence

MyDarlingRose · Yesterday 20:41

Tell the police now this could be considered harassment.

MyDarlingRose · Yesterday 20:42

Also report the posts to Facebook and the group admins and tell them what’s going on

SnapAndFartAllDayLong · Yesterday 20:44

Either make a fake fb account or get someone you trust to comment stating not to give your details out and also contact the police as this is very menacing

Allcatsathome · Yesterday 20:44

Please report to the police.
The posts he makes need to be reported on Facebook.
Make your work aware of this in case he shows up.
Do you have DC?
Hope you stay safe this sounds awful.

Popps01 · Yesterday 20:49

Can the police do anything? As I never reported anything to them.
My colleague and a friend messaged an admin and it was removed

But I'm worried about other groups and especially his mums one

Remember to screenshot everything in case the post is taken down. Sorry this is happening to you x

I’m so sorry, what a nightmare. Based on my own personal experience like yours, whenever people post on Facebook claiming to be innocently looking for lost friends or relatives I’m always suspicious but people don’t seem to think and rush to help. I wish people would be more aware that many people - especially women - don’t want to be found, for good reason. Hope it all works out ok for you

Owlcat42 · Yesterday 20:54

Speak to the police whether they can do something right now or not. You need it lodged as a concern, and if anything further happens they'll hopefully be quicker to react. Also find out if your local council has a domestic abuse helpline, they can be very helpful.

ShutupLwren · Yesterday 20:57

I’m sorry you have had this experience. I’d be calling the police for advice here, maybe officers could pay a visit to say you don’t want to be contacted by him at all.
