AIBU to ask how you acquired your fixed charging point?

We have an electric car and love it. We currently charge using a cable that plugs into the mains, under the garage door, and then into the car. However, we’d like to get a fixed charger installed.

I understand they’re generally about £1000 - has anyone managed to get one any cheaper or as part of a deal with an electricity supplier, or similar?

I used a local electrical company - it was about £930 all in and the lead time was shorter than Octopus

We paid £880 for ours with a local company, it would have been more expensive and taken longer with our electric company

NDN got one through the dealer and it was fitted before the car arrived. 🤔

Ask the dealer where you bought the car - maybe they have someone local etc?

You need someone approved/certified under part P of the Building Regulations to install it.
