I’m financially tied through my house to my partner, I’ve made mistakes in the past I admit, but we still live together and have a child. Today he said he is here ‘for his benefit’ meaning the house, we wouldn’t have it if it weren’t for the help from my mum. He refuses couples counselling. To make matters worse I’m a recovered alcoholic, I’ve obviously made mistakes but I’m trying so hard to live a sober and happy life for my daughter. He says ‘you will get your day’ ‘I won’t forget’
im not in immediate danger, he’s not violent.
i have a job but my finances aren’t great.
im terrified.
who can I call for advice?

If your mum was in the position to help with your deposit can she help you buy him out? Make a plan, speak to a solicitor move out? It sucks i was exactly here a few years ago good luck xx

She’d only be able to if she sold her house which I obviously I don’t want to put her in that position

Have you suggested you sell up and split?

I would start documenting everything, look into your options to get out of this awful relationship. Talk to your family and friends.

But he won’t

What a moron. My ex did this it took years to get rid of him he only moved out eventually because A. My dad helped me to buy him out and B. He met someone else online. These people are parasites. I feel for you hope you have friends and family for support.

@MyLimeGuide we’re you scared? Did you live in fear? Did you feel like nothing was ever right or good enough? But at the same time put on a happy ‘front’ for the sake of your child/children, for the outside world, to help you get through it without losing yourself completely? This is what I feel I’m doing
