To report my Line manager for this

Bit of background

Manager has been reprimanded a few months ago by senior management for inappropriate behaviour/ practices

Ive not really been on his radar in so far as affected by him as I am essential within the business

This manager has been cutting corners and making some very questionable choices which I’ve been pushing back on. He makes assurances he will change and support me more only for him to U turn -

example I regularly am not able to take a break - once for 4 consecutive days as we were so under deployed (he keeps sacking people)

I approached him with an issue today and he laughed at me. I found this really triggering and walked off and left the office

He followed me out to car where I was trying to recompose myself and have a break and he would’ve leave no matter how many times I told him I was entitled to a break. In the end I left my car and went back to the building to lock myself in a loo.

I feel sick about going in tomorrow

Absolutely report it

is there a higher up boss you can talk to? Or hr?

go straight to them in the morning op and refuse to be with this man alone again

Yes there’s another Manager who is very nice. If she’s in I’ll ask to speak with her. I was concerned it would be seen as an over reaction.

Absolutely report him. If he was already reprimanded for inappropriate behaviour then you know the company will take it seriously.

You can (and should) call in sick today and tell them why. Following you like that was completely unacceptable. Say you need an urgent meeting to discuss his behaviour.

He seemed to pull things together but has slipped definitely and has gotten worse.
