To ask how old your 13 year olds are

DS2 is 13, he was 13 in April. He's 5’7, the conversation came up tonight and eldest mentioned how he was barely 5 ft at 13. And how at 14 when he went back to school in sept 2020 after lockdown others were shocked he'd grown and he was still only 5’5, he was 5’6 at the end of year 11 and now at 20 he's 5’10 so he did shoot up after he left school

They do have different dads and dp Is 6’3 so we always knew ds2 would be tall too but I didnt expect it to be so soon. He was also prem so tiny when he was born which I know doesn’t make much difference but where has that tiny baby gone!

He seems miles taller than the boys in his year (all boys school) and also at cadets etc, I don’t want him to end up feeling self conscious as I know ds1 was but the opposite how tall are your 13 year olds?

If you are asking about height, you can just google growth charts for boys and find out what is normal and what height he is projected to end up at.

All 13 year olds are 13 years old. That’s what makes them 13 year olds.

My DS was 5 foot 7 at 13.

My DS isn't 13 until beginning September and is 5 foot 4.

My 13 year old will be 14 next month. He is 5 foot 11

My 13yr old is about 10 developmentally due to ASD and dyspraxia. He’s about 5ft 8 and like a long drink of water, as my mum would say. Skinny, that is.

My 15 yo is 5’5. No one ever seems to have short kids on here.

Ds is 5ft 2inches. He’s 13, will turn 14 in Sept. He’s shorter than some of his friends, but taller than others. I generally buy him around age 13 clothes. The men in our family are quite tall so I think he’ll shoot up at some point.

My DD turned 13 last month and is 5’9”. Her dad is very tall!

My ds was 5ft 8 and a size 13 men’s shoe at 13.

He is now 23 and is 6ft 2 and thankfully still a size 13.

the range of heights in 13 year olds is massive. Ds has the same friendship group now as he did at 13 and some of them have hardly grown, others loads. My brother was 6ft at 13 and stopped at 6ft 6. His friends were all smaller than him but it wasn’t an issue.

My DS was 5ft8 in year 7. He was one of the tallest in his year and looked a lot older than was. He hasn't grown since and is now 18. His dad is over 6ft so we were expecting him to grow more. It's similar to my growth, I was the tallest in my class in primary school but then ended up a very average 5ft5.

He turned 13 in April; 5”9 & size 13 shoe size. He keeps growing and it’s expensive!

My younger DS has just finished year 7, will be 13 in September and is 5’7 or so. He’s much taller than his big brother was at the same age; he was this height in year 9 if not the start of year 10. They all grow at different paces and not much point worrying!

to add some balance to this, mine is 5 foot nothing, maybe even 4’11 and a size 5-6 shoe. He does not loook out of place with his peers

13 is a funny age, some kids have shot up and are almost adult sized, I was, some are still little little kids....it will even out

But clearly your lads going to be tall...but he could also well not grow more than a inch or two

12yo is 5ft 9.5.

Ds1 was tiny at age 13 (5’ 2?). He shot up in his late teens and is now about 6 feet tall. He grew a lot 19 -20 years old.

Is it? There’s often ‘what height are your 4/7/14 year old?’ threads. I’m not sure it’s that weird. I remember there being many threads asking about baby/toddler/child weights and shoe sizes too

My 11 year old is 5ft 7in and a size 9 shoe. He currently has a risser score of 0, so he hasn’t started growing yet, but his spinal consultant has suggested he will be at least 6ft 7.

DS isn't 13 till January and is 5 foot 6 inches currently. I'd say he's on the taller end of average for his year group but by no means is he amongst the very tall kids. Though I have noticed that it's the girls who seem to be tallest in his year group.

5ft 4" he turned 13 in April. His Dads 5"5 and his much older sister is only 5ft 2 so it's a bit of a surprise.

My DS was tiny at 13. He only shit up in Y10-11. He's now going on 18 and six foot. He's caught up or overtaken most of his tall friends, which he's highly chuffed about. So height at 13 can just mean you developed earlier. Not an indication of future height.
