AIBU to hate the new ads that block the top of the screen and don't budge on Mumsnet?

Maybe others with different phones are not as affected, but I have just noticed some new ads popping up that take up about 1/3 of the screen, blocking off the screen and not budging for quite a long while. It is too stressful to read Mumsnet like this! I am not willing to pay, but don't object to adverts that don't actively get in the way of reading. They even made it hard to write this post. Are others finding the same?

Yes I am on my Apple phone and it is horrendous. Really ruining it for me at the moment.

I don't get those adverts but I do hate the flickering ones that appear at the top or bottom of the screen.
I can't look at anything flickering due to migraines and really object to this.

Same, except this isn’t new for me, have complained to MNHQ many times on various threads.

I am giving up on Mumsnet if it doesn't change! Maybe they are not factoring in different phone displays.

Yes, and I only look for the x to close them. No idea ever what the actual ad is for.

And I’ve just looked at an ad and it’s not even an x, more of a triangle, so that shows how much impact they have on me…

You lose a couple of bits of functionality but it’s worth it to get shot of the ad overload.
