I bought a house with my partner 2 years ago and have been with him 3 years in total. For context we are both 36 YO. My Mum lives in Europe and my partner and her have not met. Other members of my family have such a brother, uncle, auntie etc This is due to my Mum going through some really stressful and traumatic times in the past 3 years including hospital stays. Whilst my Mum knows about my partner, I never told her that we bought a house together as I did not want to worry or stress her when she was unwell. I wanted to make sure he was The One as if it did not work out I did not want to stress her out even more. She is now due to visit and stay in our house for a week. Do I tell her beforehand or surprise her? She is 75 years for context and I’m her youngest.
