Unsure about Aviemore holiday due to fires

Our longawaited holiday is in Saturday, to
Aviemore. We are going on the train and arriving Saturday early evening in Aviemore, staying in an Airbnb . Lots to do and organise tomorrow but unsure if we should cancel (we’d lose all the money now). The fires were apparently contained this afternoon (but still active) and a helicopter is now dropping water …. But still unsure if we should go ! Do you think now the helicopter has arrived we should know by tomorrow pm if it’s okay to go? 😬

You will be absolutely fine. My parents stay near aviemore and it’s very built up with the fires no where near the main area of aviemore.

Second this - family in Aviemore and nearby. You will be fine.
Enjoy your holiday!

Completely understand why you’d worry but you’ve picked a great location and will be fine.

It’s likely to be fine.

Look at a map with a decent scale and look at the distance. Theyre seeming reasonably confident that things are coming under control.

Hopefully you’ve seen the latest update which has removed aviemore from the area of concern.

Yes I did thank you so much though 💐
