circumcision for my child in pain. Experiences?

Child aged 6 needs to be circumcised due to medical reasons is on nhs waiting list however I’m thinking about going private due to the pain he is in. The clinic I have found doesn’t put child to sleep and uses local anesthetic. My child has asd/adhd and has a fear of needles due to previous blood tests so I’m worried about how this will go. Has anyone had any experience of this please and how did it go?

Both of my sons are circumcised for medical reasons. They both went into hospital for it. Neither were in pain beforehand but their foreskins were tight and causing problems having a wee. They both had a general anaesthetic (can’t imagine it working well with a local). It was straightforward and, as soon as they were able to pee, were allowed home. My one son is autistic, they could never have used a local anaesthetic. I hope it goes well.
