AIBU to think everyday life admin has become far too complicated?

I just can’t believe how difficult it is to just the most basic of things these days. I forgot my password for my savings account online and I have just been on the phone for over an hour being passed between so many different bots and AI generated response systems before I could even speak with a human. I find doing these things that used to be so straight forward have become overly complicated in the last 12 months. I have no idea how the older generation cope. The NHS trust I work for are pushing everything down the APP route and if you’re not tech savvy you’re going to get left sitting on the waiting list. We are just not prepared for this new way of doing things, I miss talking to humans! I’m only late 30’s and find this is becoming unbearable. Am I being unreasonable?

Currently on hold to Barclaycard (16 minutes so far) having been invited to phone them because the app won't install on my phone.

I don't actually want the app, but I need it to find out or reset my PIN. I want to buy two expensive items in a shop today and want to pay with Barclaycard, but I don't remember my PIN as I've almost never needed it. It's taken me about half an hour this morning and counting to even start to use my Barclaycard.

UPDATE: Just had the phone call. She told me I shouldn't have installed the Barclaycard app, I should install the Barclays app instead . I explained I only wanted it to get or reset my PIN because I want to shop today. She talked me through a way to get my PIN on their automated phone system (I had to write down 10 steps including "ignore it three times when it asks for your PIN" and "once you realise the call has gone silent enter your expiry date and security code and then press Option 1). Needless to say that hasn't worked.

It's now close to one hour and I have achieved nothing. Fuck off Barclaycard!

Also, the automated balance given to me was £1000 more than the balance given to me by the woman I was speaking to on the phone. My payment was due today and should have gone it but has it? Fuck knows!

Qr codes for self-service in cafes are a brilliant example of technology fucking up small human interactions, which we need far more of. I despise them. They also often glitch, with WiFi cutting out, long orders lost before payment, two brains required to simultaneously manage children. I eat out less now, in part because our favourite place introduced them, in part rising costs.
