East London high school recommendations

Hi all

we are coming up to the time where we need to apply for sons high school choices. I didn’t grow up here so I don’t know any of the high schools here. We are in E16.

does anyone currently have children at any that they would or would not reccomend? I have been warned away from Oasis academy. I know some other local ones are royal docks academy and Cumberland school. I will attend open evenings but hoping to get some real insight. Son plays football to quite a high level so any schools with a focus on football are a bonus. I understand not all London high schools work on catchment area so would be happy with son travelling up to 30 minutes on train or bus

please let me know any advice you might have!

Have a look at Brampton manor. I moved from E6 a long time ago but they seem to have great academic success, not sure how much focus they put into sport though.
