I have had essentially the same hairstyle for my entire adult life (I am in my 40s) and am trying to work up the courage to try something new. My hair is wavy to curly and I pretty much always have it trimmed as per the photo: longish with long layers. I find it looks alright from the front for the most part as the ends tend to curl in large ringlets (although not today, apparently!), but I have seen in photos that it looks thin around the scalp from the back. In general there is not much in the way of volume up top.
Does anyone here have a similar hair type and some ideas of hairstyles for me? I have been thinking about a butterfly or wolf cut, and/or a fringe, but am not sure if it will work or just end up looking scraggly. If you do have experience of such cuts, could you also let me know how much styling is required day to day? Appreciate it!
