Trying to choose between two job offers

And I need to choose quickly in order to not waste anyone's time, whilst I'm still at offer stage.

Job 1- Palliative/end-of-life and dementia care in the community. Driving round to clients, appeals to me as I have worked in domiciliary care before, the hours will be 7-3 most days and some 3-10, alternative weekends. The company enrols you in NVQs and there is progression available.
This appeals to me as I enjoy the work and I'm looking to move away from heavy office-based roles/micromanagement and want to be more independent.

Job 2- Field Care Supervisor- mixture of visiting clients and office work, unsure what the exact split is. Office hours with the occasional weekend in required. 10-6 each day so hours are not ideal, role will involve leadership which I'm looking to move into. Will pay slightly less than 1st role but can pick up overtime.
Just really don't know what to do, any insight?

Personally job 1 would appeal to me more but you need to tell us more about your personal circumstances, ambitions etc.

Thanks, either way I want to gain a qualification and advance. When I worked in home care a few years back, there was always pressure to pick up extra shifts so this is something I'm a little concerned about.

I like the client group. The working hours would suit me.

To be honest I’m not clear what your role is for job 2. The word supervisor makes me think you will be supervising others? I personally find it less rewarding than the work you describe in role 1.

Thank you. It seems to be a mixture of delivering care and supervising other care staff- unannounced visits, PPE checks, care plans etc

This sounds bad but I feel like a lot of people look down on care work but simultaneously depend on it? Many of us have had relatives who needed care, I certainly have.
It's seen as a minimum wage, unskilled job that anyone can do with no qualifications. This company pays well above minimum wage and the role is literally supporting people on their deathbed, it's not unskilled or easy by any means.
I worry too much about what people think- a few years ago I had a friend ask me 'Do you really do care work?' With a smirk on her face. I don't know what to do, I know it shouldn't matter.

Care work is so undervalued for what is incredibly skilled work. I’d take the first role because it sounds like meaningful work and can make a huge difference in the lives of the people needing care and their loved ones. I have no interest in checking what other people are doing and I’d expect a supervisory role to be better paid. The only concern I’d have is the emotional toll of end of life care, if you have a good support system, I’d do the first.

I still have no idea what to do. It's not the work, it's what other people think which I know is bad. Because I went to uni then trained as a teacher, people expect me to be a teacher still or to be doing 'better' by now. I know I shouldn't care but I can't help it.

I think you sound more positive about the first one so I would go for that. Which would you choose if you weren't worried about what other people think? Choose that one.

The way you’ve written it, you sound much more keen on the first role

I think you will have more of a sense of purpose in the first role. Your feelings about what people think about you, might be somewhat met, by the appreciation that comes from the role. I think very fondly of the carers in my dad’s final days.

Supervision of others tends to bring problems and makes for a more stressful role.

You've described job 1 as much better in terms of hours, pay, progression so not sure where the difficulty chosing is.

You've a very weird judgmental friend. Paliative care is one of the most decent jobs someone can do.

I agree, but for some reason people hear care and assume: low pay, unskilled, anyone can do it, no qualifications etc.
Job 2 also offers a qualification, progression and fewer weekends. It sounds like 1 is a better option, but I'll think a bit more today.
