Whatsapp status overuse (lighthearted, mostly!)

An old work colleague who I may bump into again either socially or for work purposes (so I cannot block/delete) uses her whatsapp status the way other people do insta stories or whatever. I don't have anyone else who uses it so frequently - at least once per day sharing memes, life guidance type posts and funny pictures, but mostly sharing posts about the Palestine war. I managed to stop ignoring it until one day my mum accidentally set a picture as her status and wanted to know how to take it down with pictures of each step, so as the dutiful daughter I put my own status up ( gor the first time ever) and documented me taking it down again. As I was going in and out of the status section I could see the amount of new pictures etc that were being uploaded, and I'm curious to know if I'm the unusual one or she is for our divergent whatsapp status use!

YABU - I share every little thing on my status and she will end the war through her vigorous status sharing
YANBU - wtf, does she not realise that most people don't pay any attention to them?!

I have to admit though, that since I've noticed how frequently she uses it, everytime I see the green dot at the bottom of my screen I do roll my eyes and get very slightly annoyed at her.

I have never used WhatsApp for writing statuses and posting photos, just messaging

I use it very occasionally as do a few people I know. Some of my contacts (ie not close friends) use it frequently to post stuff I’m not interested in, so it was a good day when I learned that I could hide individual statuses 🙂

I silence for 30 days posters who share their thought processes to gain attention.
