Can everyone help me remember where I put £150

As the title we have lost an envelope with £150 in it ready for our holiday

can anyone come up with suggestions of where I may have put it for safe keeping please

Flight bag?
Handbag?

In a book or tucked between books on a book shelf?
I have done it - lost a book safe with all of passports in it - couldn’t for the life of me remember where I’d put it but I knew it was somewhere safe 😳
Tucked in a food cupboard?
underwear drawer?

Have you checked in cupboards, drawers, in pockets, handbag, try and think of the last time you actually saw the envelope, check everywhere, even places you think it won't be, check your rubbish (incase the envelope has been thrown away,)

Paper bin?
under a bigger piece of paper
bedside drawer

Car glove box?

Glove compartment of the car, or inside zip in handbag

If I lose things I tidy up and go through rooms systemically. I hope you find it

cast your mind back to when you put the money in the envelope, now where did you think the safest place would be for it? @humptydumptyfelloff

Inside a diary, journal or book. That’s where I usually put notes if I’m not taking a wallet with me.

Do you have a random crap drawer?

Could you have binned it?

Where you might have put it depends on what you were concerned about most when you stashed it. Were you worried about it being stolen, so hid it, in which case it could be anywhere,9 or worried about forgetting to take it with you, in which case you would have put it somewhere it couldn't be forgotten like your case, washbag, in the pocket of a coat/cardi youre taking, in the book you're reading, with your passports...

Knicker or sock drawer

Argh god I did this with exactly the same amount in an envelope! Turned out I had put it in the trouser pocket of some combat trousers I use for dog walking and diy which has a gazillion pockets!

I had been handed the envelop by my DP and intended to put it in my pocket momentarily as I needed both hands free for something else and ended up forgetting it was there!!

can you check all pockets on coats/ bags incase you put it in a pocket “only momentarily” like I had done?

Near the dog walking stuff, meant to have been put away

Suitcase?

Back of sofa, under cushions. In kitchen by side with other spare documents. In an address book/diary/birthday book.

In the drawer where you keep travel stuff/passports.
That's where I'd have put it.

Recreate the situation when you brought it home from the bank or wherever. Literally go outside and walk in, go to where your envelopes are, pretend to put in the holiday money. Your brain then (hopefully!) takes over and retraces your steps.

I use this technique loads and it's surprisingly effective! Good luck :)
