I want to move to an area that's outside of the m60 as I'm sick of living with people who aren't like me. I'm now family focused and want to live in a low crime area with a community feel.

I've heard a smaller village like Ramsbottom is nice

I have no local friends and toddler isn't in school yet

I moved from south London to a small town in the South Downs 30-odd years ago.

Best thing I ever did, and I wouldn't move to any big city now.

Easier now with WFH

If you want to move then go for it, have you tried local Facebook groups to see if there are the amenities that you want/ need?

I guess if other families manage I should be ok?

I moved from central London to a village near Newbury and my old home village.

Such a relief. Much friendlier and plenty of facilities like soft play, country parks, coding clubs, swimming pools etc.

Moved from London to a small town in Essex. Far and away the best decision I have ever made. I'd never go back.

I moved from Bristol to a town midway between Bristol and Bath. Close enough to both of them when I need something that I can't get locally (about 10 minutes by train to either of them) and far enough that I feel safe and welcomed.

Just make sure you do your home work first, you mentioned things like soft play, but also consider transport and distance to shops. For example, we are totally reliant on the car and whilst we have a post office and local shop, main supermarkets are 15 miles away. Obviously a massive difference to living in / near Manchester!!
