AIBU to be amazed at how many ways you can be ripped off now, when parking your car?

What with the mushrooming of residential parking zones and every spare bit of other space being bought up by private parking companies with weird restrictions about which shops you need to visit, how long you're allowed to spend fucking about downloading their parking app in a tarmacadam data desert, and cameras everywhere, it all feels like a game you can't win. What the fuck is going on?

I don't have to use parking apps that often thankfully but when I have, I've noticed there's a load of pre ticked extra charges unless you go in and remove them. Fucking disgusting, I hate anything that creams off money for providing a 'service' that no-one really needs and just exploits everyone for their own gain.

It's just profiteering about nothing isn't it. Your car takes up a car sized space. Think of five ways you can add extra charges to a car taking up a car sized space. Five extra hoops you have to jump through to put your car into a car sized space. Eg timing, ticking this or that box on a tiny fucking screen you can't see when the sun's shining or in the dark of pure night, downloading this or that QR code within 30 seconds or game over. All you get at the end of it is being able to put your car into a car shaped space, but if you fail you'll have an £85 bill next week
