AIBU to think £70 for gel nails is quite expensive?

To think £70 for gel nails (hands and feet) is a LOT (or am I being really tight?). I have wedding next week and with the heatwave I thought I'd treat myself to getting my nails done and my poor feet are in need of a bit of attention. I've just been quoted £70 and I am a bit shocked!

Sounds like it’s at the cheaper end for round here considering that’s a manicure and a pedicure.
i do my hands myself because I change colours about twice a week, use seche vite and it dries almost instantly, I do it when I’m in bed and it never budges.
I pay for a pedicure before I go on holiday and it lasts for bloody ages (I generally just let it grow out because I don’t really get my feet out here!) and it’s £54 just for a pedicure.

Opened thread assuming just fingers and was going to say yes but I pay £40 for biab with nail art on my fingers alone (and my nail lady is worth every penny!) so if you’re in a more expensive area than me it doesn’t seem that high for both at all.

Nope that’s about right where I live so it’s not particularly ‘expensive’

£32 for hands only that from a neighbour and it’s £60 in the local salon on the village.

BIAB with just a plain colour is £30, more for French tips or patterns. Same for toes. So for a basic colour for both it would be £60 but it would go up if you wanted something other than just a colour. £70 doesn’t sound awful.

It’s £60 where I live for both, but where I work in the city it’s more like £100+

£25 for hands

I pay £24 for gel hands and about £28 for gel toes but that's not with a pedicure that's just the gel.
Luckily I don't have toes dine too often but will try myself through the spring and summer.

My salon is £60 for biab pedicure and £40 for hands so seems good value to me

A manicure with gel used to take about 30-40 mins, pedicure with gel another 30 mins when I got them regularly.
That’s over an hour of work, plus the overheads of the venue, insurance, materials, heating, electricity, water etc etc.

Running a business is an endless stream of costs that have spiralled.

I pay 30 for hands only. I.am.in a cheaper part of the country. If ypu are in.the south this probably not unreasonable, although it is a lot of money I know

As a one off, starting from scratch, 70 isnt a lot, you are going to be there 2 hours , maybe longer.

get regular polish on your feet instead of BIAB.

My nails are 35-40. More for fancy art.
I can do plain hands & feet for 50.
