AIBU to find older children’s high-pitched screaming from my home irritating

Why do parents think it’s ok to let their DC scream in very high pitched voices? It’s bloody annoying and can’t relax, read a book etc.

The schools round me closed yesterday and what DC I have seen screaming are around 8 years old.

Unable to go out as had major surgery

I absolutely agree with you. My ex next door neighbour used to encourage his son to scream in a high pitch every time he kicked his football. It was like torture. But you will get told kids need to do this apparently and children must express themselves. Fuck that, it's anti social.

selfish behaviour from lazy parents

It's really not that hard to teach your kids that you simply do not need to scream, unless you are literally being murdered.

It's also a nuisance for OTHER children!

But I found it works better when it's a young child who tell the other to shut up, so you need a small child to help you out here
