My son told me that he’d died. If not heard of him before then but then I did recognise some songs.

I'm late 50s and have never heard of him (including the news that he has died). Off to Google him now.

Yes I know I was saying that I read it as olive tree and my brain went to olive garden from there rather than Oliver Tree. Still not entirely sure who he is only that he recently sadly passed away and he was a singer?

I half wish that I hadn't googled him.

I know that it's mean to comment on someone's appearance, especially in the context of their death, but I hadn't expected the photos that popped up on my phone and they genuinely took me aback enough for me to (briefly and slightly) freak out.
